Kelly and Nick's Elegant Ballard Wedding

"Anytime I tell someone how we met, they think it's either out of a movie or made up. I promise it's neither!"

Kelly met Nick 6 years ago at her sister's beautiful September wedding. Nick was a groomsman and happened to be the groom's brother, so they were acquainted and were paired to walk up the aisle together.

"I commented to my sister how cute Adam's brother was...I remember asking him not to let me fall down the stairs we were walking down to the ceremony space and he didn't disappoint."

The two saw each other at family gatherings every now and then. Nick decided to move to Washington from Portland to be closer to Kelly so they can start their journey together.

"Five years later, we still live in Ballard with our French Bulldog, Theo, and the rest is history."

Nick proposed to Kelly at their home one evening after Kelly had returned home from visiting her best friend.

"I thought he just missed me and was being really sweet telling me all these wonderful things about why he loves me. It didn't hit me what was happening until he got down on one knee."

They went to the snowy mountains for a breathtaking engagement shoot. Their wintery colors contrast so well with the snow and trees around them and the whole aesthetic compliments their wedding to come.

THE WEDDING

On October 5th, Kelly and Nick said, "I do" and celebrated the night away with all of their closest friends and family. They got married at Cathedral in Ballard. A chic and rustic indoor venue with a very Seattle vibe that really highlighted the golds and burgundies of the wedding.

THE FIRST LOOK

A very emotional and beautiful first look took place before the ceremony. Kelly wore a gorgeous Stella York gown from I Do Bridal and Nick wore a suit from Black Tux.

THE CEREMONY

Cathedral in Ballard was the perfect venue for this romantic ceremony. The muted tones of the brick wall and exposed wood create the warm ambiance. Jessica Van Campbell Flowers provided the bouquets and greenery touches to really tie the whole look together.

THE RECEPTION

Kelly and Nick danced the night away after a meal catered by Ravishing Raddish and gorgeously decorated cake by Honey Crumb Cakes. It was the perfect evening.

Congratulations to Kelly and Nick (and Theo)!!!
